Pokémon GO: Steeled Resolve Challenge – Which Path Should You Choose?

Hey trainers! A new exciting event has just kicked off in Pokémon GO, and it’s time for you to make a big decision! From January 21 to January 26, 2025, you’ll have the chance to complete the Steeled Resolve Timed Research, where you get to choose between two awesome paths: Blanche’s Path or Cliff’s Path. Wondering which one is right for you? Don’t worry; we’ve got the scoop!

What’s the Challenge All About?

Before diving into the big decision, you first need to complete some tasks. These tasks are the same for everyone, and they include:

• Catch 15 Pokémon: Head out to find and catch your favorite Pokémon!
• Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms: Explore your area and give those PokéStops a spin for cool rewards!
• Walk 2 kilometers: Get some exercise while playing – it’s a win-win!

Once you finish these tasks, you’ll be faced with the pivotal question: Blanche or Cliff?

Understanding Your Choices: Blanche vs. Cliff

Both paths involve similar tasks, but the Pokémon you encounter along the way are different! Here’s a quick look at what to expect:

Common Tasks for Both Paths

• Use 5 super-effective Charged Attacks
• Power up Pokémon 5 times
• Battle in GO Battle League 5 times

Completing these tasks rewards you with useful items like Stardust and TMs that can help your Pokémon learn new moves.

Pokémon Encounters

What makes each path unique are the Pokémon you’ll encounter:

• Blanche’s Path:

  • Starts with a Marill, which can evolve into Azumarill—a strong Pokémon in competitions!
  • Ends with Steelix, a tough Pokémon that’s great for battles.
• Cliff’s Path:
  • Kicks off with a Shadow Machop—this little guy can evolve into Shadow Machamp, a powerhouse!
  • You’ll finish with Marowak, another great Pokémon for battles.

Choosing Your Path: Blanche or Cliff?

Think about what you need for your Pokémon collection. If you’re into battling, both paths have something to offer. However, Cliff’s path might give you a slight edge. Why? Shadow Machop is harder to find in regular gameplay. Plus, while Marill appears often during the event, Shadow Machop is a real challenge to catch and may take more effort.

Keep in mind, Marowak from Cliff’s path is also less common than Marill. Plus, the Magnetic Lure Module you earn can help you catch different Pokémon later, like Onix, and even evolve it into Steelix.

Quick Tip!

If you already have a strong Shadow Machamp and are specifically seeking Steelix, you might prefer Blanche’s path. It all depends on what you want to achieve!

Don’t forget you have until January 26, 2025, at 8 PM local time to finish your research tasks. So, think about which Pokémon you want in your collection and choose wisely!
