Plus, on weekends, you can challenge Shadow Regirock in Shadow Raids! These battles are tougher but offer a chance to catch this cool Rock-type Pokémon.
How Do Pokémon GO Raids Work?
Raids are like big boss battles where you and your friends team up to defeat super-strong Pokémon. When a raid starts, you’ll see a giant egg appear at a gym. Once it hatches, the battle begins!
To join a raid, you’ll need a Raid Pass. You can earn a free pass each day by spinning the photo disc at a gym, or you can buy special passes from the shop. If you can’t make it to the gym, you can use a remote raid pass to join from anywhere, but keep in mind that you’ll deal less damage.
Tips for New Trainers
- Check the weather before raiding. Some Pokémon get stronger in certain weather conditions.
- For 5-star and Mega raids, team up with 4-6 other trainers for the best chance to win.
- Save your remote raid passes for Pokémon you really want, as raiding in person deals more damage.
