What’s Happening?
From January 3 to January 7, 2025, Pokémon GO is hosting the Fidough Fetch event. During this time, you can catch a brand-new Pokémon called Fidough—a cute, bread-inspired creature—and its evolution, Dachsbun! But here’s the twist: you can only catch them after unlocking certain community rewards. So get your throwing arm ready!
Event Timing
Mark your calendars! The event starts on January 3 at 3:00 PM PST and ends on January 7 at 10:00 PM PST. Remember, this event runs on Pacific Standard Time, so make sure to check what that means for your local time! 🕒
How Can You Help?
The Fidough Fetch event is all about teamwork! Every time you make a Nice Throw (that means throwing the Poké Ball just right), you contribute to a global community goal. As more trainers join in, we unlock amazing rewards for everyone!
Here’s how the reward levels work:

Quick Tip: Once a level is unlocked, it stays active for the rest of the event. That means if we reach Level 6, you’ll score 4x XP and Stardust for every Pokémon you catch! It’s the perfect time to use those Lucky Eggs to boost your XP even more!
Fun Field Research
While exploring during the event, keep an eye out for Event-Specific Field Research tasks at PokéStops. These tasks can give you extra encounters with Fidough and useful items like Poké Balls and Stardust. Participating in these is a great way to power up your Pokédex!
Special Pokémon Appearances
You’ll also find some familiar faces in the wild, like:
- Growlithe
- Snubbull
- Poochyena
- Electrike (with a higher chance of shiny! 🌟)
- And, once we unlock Level 2, Fidough will start showing up too!
